Chuck Muoio’s name led off the western endorsements in a list released today by Weiss’ campaign. Jeri Muoio said last week that she isn’t yet ready to speak publicly about the race, but will do so in the near future.
Other official Weiss supporters include Commissioner Sylvia Moffett, former city commissioner and state representative Mary Brandenburg, Democratic party activist Allen Mergaman, Villages president Ron Warnecke, Vedado-Hillcrest neighborhood president Jose Rodriguez and SENA board member Michele Jones.
While Jeri Muoio might ultimately join her husband in endorsing Weiss, there’s at least one couple who are going in opposite directions.
Former mayoral candidate Paula Ryan is endorsing Weiss, but her husband, land use attorney Cliff Hertz, was on the host committee for a Materio event last night at the home of Anita Mitchell. Mitchell, a long-time Republican lobbyist, is the mother of Commissioner Kimberly Mitchell.
Other host members for last night’s Materio event included: former County Commissioners Karen Marcus and Carol Roberts, attorney Harvey Oyer III, developer Ken Tuma, and former state attorney candidate Dina Keever.
Commissioners Kimberly Mitchell, Keith James, Ike Robinson, State Sen. Jeff Clemens, State Rep. Bill Hagar and Lake Worth Mayor Pam Triolo are also supporting Materio.
